Lately I've been having some blog withdrawl issues, but sometimes being a teenager can be exceedingly uninteresting, ergo there isn't really much to write about. But since I haven't posted since late February, I feel the need to at least post something here, just to keep you satisfied. Although, atmittedly, the only ones who actually read this are Allie, my big sister Mac and my dad. But I like to maintain the illuision that the only place these posts go is the endless, irrational space that is the internet. But to be honest, I don't give a crap.
So, with Purim around the corner, my exceptionally tardy school plans to half a day's worth of celebrations tomorrow. This, of course, is the perfect excuse for a completely insane and inapprpriate after-school, over-night and over-the-top party and my best friend(Anna)'s house. There are only five of us here (Anna's mother non-inclusive) but we still manage to make explosive trouble. My brother Leo (aforementioned as Monkey) and his best friend Magic-Girl have entertained us with their superb vocal pyrotechnics, whilst Anna's elder sister Evie yakked on the phone to her boyfriend Bobbles, and Anna and I made up for Leo's atrocious singing with our *SEXY HAIR FLIP* oh-so-fabulous voices.
And, as this is a costume holiday, I am being fitted for a loverly little Tinker Bell outfit in about... well, five minutes, which I will wear tomorrow to school, and to my orthodontist, a rather unpleasant man with no sense of humour whatsoever. How fun.
Last night I called up everyone on my mobile contact list, asking for sponsorship to cut my hair. I raised over £80, and donated 11 1/2 inches to Locks For Love, an American charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair to chemotherapy. The money I raised will be given to Chai Cancer Care, a British charity which ties in to Locks For Love. A ginormous thank you to anyone and everyone who helped me to raise this stupendous amount and gave me the motivation to cut my hair to chin length.
Thank You!
Katie J.
